As the Zimbabwean opposition announced that it was ready to take on Robert Mugabe in a run-off election, High Court Judge George Chiweshe announced that the government needs more time than the statutory 21 days to prepare for the run-off.
"Get Up Chump or Else Stay Down" Although the judge and chairman of the unilaterally appointed Zimbabwe Electoral Commission (ZEC) said he intended to hold the run-off at the earliest possible date, his officials indicated it could take up to a year for the already-tainted commission to prepare for the election. The UN Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon, has offered to assist in running the election, but the Zimbabwean government has not accepted the offer which would unlock millions of dollars, equipment and manpower, and also expose the process to closer international scrutiny, which apparently the government is not very keen on. |

Patrick Chinamasa, Robert Mugabe's illegitimate Attorney General, continues to make defiant statements that Zimbabwe will never accept preconditions for a run-off, thus exposing the hypocrisy of the international community on Zimbabwe. It seems it is content to watch Zimbabwean men with no conscience abusing hapless peasants and killing the opposition, as has been confirmed by the South African observer mission and diplomats' visits to hospitals where the evidence is all there to see. |

As the world held its breath to hear what the SADC negotiator on Zimbabwe, President Thabo Mbeki, discussed with President Robert Mugabe, yesterday, the U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was busy canvassing other African heads of states. This is considered an opportune moment for African heads to take action, since the people of Zimbabwe have voted for a president and party of their choice, but the government is obfuscating the results and unleashing violence on them in violation of every code in the book. Rice in telephone diplomacy as Mbeki quite diplomacy is taken to its limits. |

In the video soldiers driving a Zimbabwe National Army truck on “operations” make a half-hearted attempt to disguise the badge on their truck. But their attempt was no match for our zoom lens. The picture on the left clearly shows the disguised badge. The one below shows the badge after the Solidarity cameraman zoomed in on it.Play Solidarity Peace Trust Video Anyone who can identify the badge that is being disguised, please email

. If you know where the truck is based and even who was operating it, that will be even better. Soldiers who are operating against their own relatives should be exposed.

The African Union (AU), the Southern African Development Community (SADC) and all who want to see a good future for Zimbabwe should aim for a free and fair election, monitored by the whole international community, says UK Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Answering questions in Parliament, Mr. Brown also said the UK was calling on United Nations (UN) to impose an arms embargo to prevent other arms and armaments from getting into Zimbabwe at this time. |

Can Mnangagwa explain how rifle, T144 ZA-40874 84M1503, ended up in the hands of villagers? As another African Union envoy arrived in Harare, Robert Mugabe’s chief election agent Emmerson Mnangagwa, a former Minister of Justice and a lawyer, has been creating fictitious memos about the opposition involving in violence. His government previously lied to the SADC that the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) was attacking police stations and organising militias and gave this as the reason for the attempted murder of the MDC leader, Morgan Tsvangirai a year ago |
