A doctor in India and another with a patient in Ethiopia can see each other and show each other X-rays, cardiograms, patients' heartbeat and vital statistics in a pilot project linking experts and those who need their expertise in the field through a fast Internet connection. This is a pilot for a scheme intended to be rolled out all over Africa with a dedicated satellite linking super-specialist hospitals in different parts of Africa and providing the best available medical expertise where it was not thought possible.
