 Unsustainable Nhema The British Minister for Africa, Lord Triesman has said, since Francis Nhema is on the banned list of Zimbabwean government officials he will be incapable of properly fulfilling the responsibilities of the chairman of the UN Commission on Sustainable Development, which include meetings in Europe.
Asked in the House of Lords what the government was doing about Nhema’s appointment, Lord Triesman repeated the condemnations that he and the EU presidency had already publicly made, saying the appointment would undoubtedly damage the commission’s work and its credibility. |

 Who knows how many left The National Parks and Wildlife Management Authority (NPWMA) has not conducted an audit of wildlife in the country since 2001, thus putting in peril one of Zimbabwe's remaining foreign currency earners - hunting tours.
Safari operators told ChangeZimbabwe that they were not being allocated their hunting quotas because there was no audit, and that there were irregularities in the manner qoutas were allocated. NPWMA has not yet given hunting quotas to a large number of operators, returning their applications and demanding additional information and also accusing some operators of over-hunting. |
