Frank Tawanda Buyanga, suspected of being a proxy of suspected British paedophile and Zanu (PF) financier, Nicholas Van Hoogstraten, has apparently come face-to-face with the Zanu (PF) Mafia.
He was forced to cut a deal with prosecutors, but the deal leaves us wondering whether the Attorney General (AG)'s office made it in the interest of justice or whether there was some inducement. AG Johaness Tomana

He praised MDC national hero, Gibson Sibanda and warned party members to put the people first, shun corruption and nepotism and never lose sight of the founding ideals of the Party.

Zimbabwe Republic Policemen in the early hours of yesterday morning raided and destroyed an informal settlement at Borrowdale Race Course in Harare, making more than 400 settlers homeless. Zimbabwe Lawyers for Human Rights (ZLHR) said some of those evicted and whose shacks were burnt were workers at Borrowdale Race Course where Zimbabwe's high society enjoys high class racing nearly every weekend. |

HARARE-Judge President Justice George Chiweshe will preside over the trial of four ministers and several top state security agents who are being sued for damages exceeding $150 000 by Mapfumo Garutsa, a Norton resident who was a victim of abduction and subsequent enforced disappearance. The trial will commence during the week beginning 30 August at the High Court. Garutsa is claiming a total of $190 000 in damages which he suffered after he was allegedly abducted by state security agents and charged with committing acts of terrorism and banditry. Former Security Minister Didymus Mutasa, his intelligence chiefs and ZRP enforcers up for damages

18-year-old Gamuchirayi Nhengu has put Zimbabwe on the X-factor map with her soulful rendition of Walking on Sunshine which all judges agreed was superb. Gamu lives in Scotland with her mum and two little brothers, having gone to Scotland five years ago. Zimbabweans praised her and her mum saying: she is not only talented, but reflects the joy and pride that mothers can have in their children even if their marriages have failed or they lost their husbands. |

MDC splinter group secretary-general Professor Welshman Ncube, whose party stands no chance of winning an election is continuing to strengthen Zanu (PF)'s hand in the Government of National Unity in the knowledge that as long as Zanu (PF) remains in power, the splinter group will also remain relevant, with the likes of Professor Ncube retaining Ministerial posts without being elected. The latest diatribe by Prof Ncube, tellingly published in the Sunday Mail, shows that the Professor has not only lost his way, but also calls into question how he applies his legal training to completely misrepresent the meaning and roles of the Ministries of Justice and the Ministry of Constitutional Affairs.
